Lami football side currently are leading the Vodafone Senior League Viti Levu zone with nine points after playing three matches and are undefeated and had better goal difference than Nasinu which also has nine points after playing three matches. Tailevu Naitasiri are on third spot with six points. Navua after playing two matches sit on fourth position with three points with Rakiraki on fifth. Nadroga registered its first win on Sunday defeating Northland Tailevu 6-0 who is yet to register a point.

The Vodafone Senior League in the Northern Division will kick off this weekend at Subrail Park in Labasa.
Four senior teams from Vanua Levu will compete on a round basis while the winner will play in two league series against the Viti Levu winner for a direct promotion to the premier division.
This Saturday at 1pm Seaqaqa will face Nadogo while at 3pm Taveuni will take on Savusavu. Both matches will be played at Subrail Park.
Labasa leads women’s race
Labasa women’s team sit on top of the Vodafone Senior Women’s League standing after been undefeated in the competition. Last weekend they defeated Savusavu 7-1. Meanwhile Seaqaqa and Savusavu failed to turn up for their match and both teams will lose points.
Match called off in Rakiraki
The Vodafone Senior League match between Rakiraki and Navua was abandoned. Rakiraki president Shaneel Goundar said the Rakiraki Town Council assured them the ground will be ready, however it was not possible because of continuous heavy downpour.
The Vodafone Girls’ U18 League match between Tavua and Nadroga was also postponed. In the other match, Ba U18 thrashed Nadi U18 6-0 at Prince Charles Park.
Three more goalkeepers
The Vodafone national football team has welcomed experienced Simione Tamanisau, Vereti Dickson and Sakeo Taganeca into camp. Head coach Christophe Gamel said he called the trio as he also wants the goalkeepers to make the maximum use of the new goalkeeper coach. Gamel said he had been struggling to get players for this tour.
