Boys charged over Brisbane armed robbery

BRISBANE – A 12-year-old boy is one of three youths charged over an armed robbery in Brisbane.

Police allege the trio — aged 12, 13 and 17 — threatened two men with star pickets and demanded property at 8pm on Sunday.

The men complied with demands and the trio ran away, but were arrested a short time later.

The 17-year-old boy has been charged with one count of armed robbery in company, attempted robbery and stealing and was to appear in the Brisbane Magistrate’s Court yesterday.

The 13-year-old and 12-year-old boys were both charged with one count each of armed robbery in company, attempted robbery and stealing, and will be dealt with under the provisions of the Youth Justice Act.
