Boxing change

MAJESTY boxing promotions will host the next boxing program at the FMF gymnasium in Suva next Saturday night.

The main event is being sorted out by promoter Sudesh Ram after the Boxing Commission of Fiji (BCF) unsanctioned the main event between Joseph Kwadjo and New Zealand-based Iraqi boxer Sivan Hermez.

Sara Bulutani Mataitawakilai, the BCF chairman, clarified that they had to unsanction the fight as Hermez was suspended on medical grounds.

“Hermez’s suspension is on medical ground. BCF is firm with its decision after receiving two opinions from overseas boxing bodies,” Mataitawakilai said.

The BCF commissioner had forwarded a snap of an email which stated that Hermez had lost on a technical knockout on February 17 in Brisbane, Australia and after a medical examination the doctor handed a 60 days medical suspension.

Tickets are $25 grandstand and $45 ring side. There will also be corporate tables.
