THE Southern Division HQ Police Wives volleyball team received a shot in the arm as they prepare for the Sukuna Bowl competition.
Airtech, a Nabua-based refrigeration company, gave a set of tracksuits to the team at the Nabua Police Station yesterday.
DPC Selesitino Babakoro received the apparel on behalf of the team and said the assistance would boost the team’s chances of winning their competition.
“This is a big boost for the Police Wives volleyball team as they are preparing for the Sukuna Bowl competition,” he said.
“Not only will it complement their uniform for the event but just the gesture itself is a motivating factor for the Wives.”
Airtech Limited managing director Avikash Raj said the gift was part of their corporate responsibility and giving back to the community.
“Women play a huge role in the society and the Police Wives are no different,” he said.
“This time they are going to play in a sport and we have confidence in them to perform to their utmost best.”
Volleyball team captain Mereoni Ralulu said the competition would be held on October 10 and 11 in Lautoka and they were looking forward to competing.
