FIJI Just how it is today is a book for visitors to learn more about the real Fiji.

This was highlighted by the author of the book, Dr Patricia Kailola, who is a longtime volunteer for Pacific Dialogue and a scientist has been around the region for the past 50 years.

She said living in the Pacific had taught her a lot of values.

“The book explains a lot about Fijian things like mats, mekes and so on,” Dr Kailola said.

“I particularly wanted to write about mats because so many visitors look at those mats and say it costs so much, why?”

The book is available for purchase at the USP Book Centre and retails at $30.

Purchases of the book will support the work of Pacific Dialogue in raising awareness in Fiji of human trafficking and help protect our people from Transnational Crimes.
