BOIL all drinking water.

This is the word from the Water Authority of Fiji (WAF) as its personnel work to flush out trapped air within water reticulation systems in Nadi.

Residents from parts of the Jet Set Town are also expected to face intermittent to no water during this period.

A WAF statement yesterday highlighted the airlocks had caused intermittent water supply to the elevated areas of Nadi over the past few days.

“WAF crew members are currently working to increase pressure on the WAF bulk main that will eliminate trapped air in the system which will result in a full restoration and normal supply to the affected areas,” the statement said.

Parts of Nadi that will be with little or no water include Solovi, Lavusa, Masi, Sonaisali, Nawaicoba to Momi, Navo elevated area, Malolo Top, Mulomulo elevated area and Nadovi/Sonaisali junction.

Water carting trucks are expected to service these areas.

According to WAF board director Kamal Gounder, customers were likely to experience discoloured water in their water supply as a result of the flushing operations.

WAF general manager customer services Sekove Uluinayau said customers in affected areas were advised to use water wisely and for their immediate needs. Members of the public can contact 3346777 and 5777 or email contact@waf.com.fj for further queries.
