LAUTOKA’s import player Benjamin Totori showed a different class of football after scoring two goals and setting up one for Zibraaz Sahib to help his team beat Nadi 3-1 in the first semi-final of the 2018 Courts Inter District Championship at the ANZ Stadium in Suva yesterday.

The Jetsetters scored the first and only goal in the first half through Rusiate Matarerega in the 24th minute of play to lead at half time 1-0.

But some strong words from Lautoka coach Kamal Swamy during the break changed the whole entire second half as the Sugar City boys gained control of the match and scoring three goals in less than 10 minutes.

Swamy said the first half wasn’t going their way because they were not ;focusing on their game plans but managed to come around in the second spell.

“In the first half they were rushing and the numbers were not there, so I told them to have patience and believe in themselves and the goals will come,” Swamy said.

Lautoka captain Samuela Drudru said they played as a team and enjoyed every moment on the field.

“During the break, I told the boys to enjoy the match, communicate and work as a team and I would also thank the Almighty for giving us the strength and the win,” Drudru said.

Lautoka will defend the title today hoping for a back to back victory at the ANZ Stadium in Suva.
