MISS World Fiji Charlene Tafuna’i hopes to raise enough money to purchase a $64,000 ventilator that will aid children with their breathing.
In her bid to raise funds for this machine, Ms Tafuna’i has been busy meeting groups and organisations.
On Wednesday, she met members of the Suva Rotary Club where she urged them to help her raise funds for the much-needed machine at the CWM Children’s Hospital.
She told the Rotarians present that she had visited the children’s ward during the Miss World Fiji competition and saw the need for more medical equipment.
Ms Tafuna’i’s fundraiser is part of the Miss World International pageant charity called Beauty with a Purpose, which encourages contestants, as part of the competition, to raise funds for charity.
She says her Beauty with a Purpose fundraising efforts would continue until she leaves for London on December 14 for the international pageant.
