A NEW Zealand businesswoman is raising funds to assist a former worker diagnosed with cancer.
Gale Campbell, managing director of Jacaran Ltd, hopes overseas treatment will allow Junita Julie Raj, 21, to spend a few more years with her one-year nine-month-old child.
Ms Campbell has put up her own funds to raise money for the 21-year-old Lautoka resident.
She hopes funds raised during the “Save Mum 4 Innayah” formal event at the Sheraton Fiji on February 27 will allow Mrs Raj to travel to India as soon as possible. Mrs Raj has been diagnosed with Ewing’s Sarcoma of the pelvis.
Her husband, Mohammed Intiaz, works as a taxidriver and only earns enough to cover rent, food and medical bills for his wife.
