Bid to change perception of the public towards ex-offenders

THE Fiji Corrections Service is working tirelessly to change the lives of the offenders in Fiji.

Deputy Commissioner of the Fiji Corrections Service Apimeleki Taukei said this during the opening of the Yellow Ribbon Project Symposium for the Lomaiviti Province at Studio 6 in Suva this morning.

He said one of the core functions of the FCS was to change the perceptions of the general public towards former offenders who leave the correctional facilities once they have served there time.

He said it was important for us not to push this people away but to help them.

The FCS throughout the year has conducted symposiums for the provinces of Serua/Namosi, Kadavu, Tailevu , Lau and the Methodist Church of Fiji and Rotuma
