IT will be a Suva vs Nadi final today in the 2019 Vodafone Fiji FACT after both teams caused a major boil-over during the semi-finals at Churchill Park in Lautoka yesterday.
Suva defeated Ba 4-3 in a penalty shoot-out after both teams were locked 1-all after 120 minutes of football.
Ba stalwart Malakai Tiwa tried to fool Suva goalkeeper Simione Tamanisau with a Panenka kick (chip kick) in Ba’s fifth penalty attempt, but Tamanisau did not move his ground and easily grabbed the chip kick to earn his side a spot in the final.
Earlier Nadi upset favourites Lautoka 3-2 to book a berth in the semi-final. 2016 was the last time Suva and Nadi featured in the Fiji FACT final with Nadi coming out victors 3-0.
Ba and Lautoka will play in the third and fourth place play-offs at 1pm at Churchill Park while Suva and Nadi will battle in the grand final at 3pm.
The winner of the tournament will receive $17,000.
The runner-up will get $5000, the third placed side will collect $2500 while the fourth placed team will get $1000.
