FOR Rajnesh Charan, it was his ability to capture their story in a photograph that bagged him a cash prize in the Kaila! DYON project.

His photograph told the story of a young student who despite his poor background, managed to succeed in his studies. The photograph showed the subject studying by the lamp-light, an everyday habit that has become part of his upbringing.

“We did the story not only for winning but to share his story to the world,” said the Swami Vivekananda College student.

“They say a picture tells a thousand words and that’s what I wanted to do. I’ve always been interested in photography, I got my first camera when I was 10-years-old and since then I’ve been hooked,” he smiled.

“I hope to take part in the DYON this year and hopefully our school wins the newspaper title this time.”
