ANISH Chand described the day he married his wife as the most memorable to him.
“It was one of the most awaited days of my life. Every moment on this day was a treasure for me,” he said with a smile.
The Fiji Times employee first met his wife in 2015 after catching sight of her when she visited their office.
“I knew that I had to get her phone number when I saw her so I asked one of my former workmates to assist me. She did more than getting Swastika’s phone contact, she actually helped us to meet,” he said with a laugh.
The two met for the first time at the picturesque Thurston Gardens in Suva where they got to know each other.
“We did not have a vehicle then so we had our bus ride together for the first time on our first meet. I loved her smile and she had a very pleasant and sweet voice. She was very shy when we met,” described Anish.
Anish is from Daku, Labasa while Swastika is from Seaqaqa also in Vanua Levu.
The couple finally sealed the deal on May 11, 2019, at Hanuman Gandhi Temple opposite Rups complex Nakasi. Over 400 guests attended the event.
The accounts officer said he never dreamt their journey would end up the way it did.
“It’s been three years of courtship. It has taken a bit longer to finally get married but it’s worth waiting,” he said with a smile.
“We have done almost everything together whether it’s travelling or visiting families.
“We have supported each other this long and hope to continue this. Finally a hearty thanks to Kirtiks Photography for the lovely photographs and to our parents Mr and Mrs Ravin Chand and Mr and Mrs Manoj Kumar for their support and love.”
