Olympics gold medal winning coach Ben Ryan has tipped former Fiji 7s captain Osea Kolinisau to be Fiji’s next Fiji 7s coach.

“He should be Fiji’s national 7s coach,” Ryan said in a livestream on his social media platform Facebook.

Ryan, has also rated Kolinisau as one of his, or the best exponent of the 7s game, believes the Namuka-i-Lau native now playing professional rugby for the Houston Saber Cats in the Major League Rugby competition in the US, has the makings to mentor Fiji 7s in the near future.

“He was way more than just his play, but his vision, his understanding and his standards.” Ryan also rated Kolinisau as one of the toughest players he had ever coached.

“If you have a proper fight with him you’ll probably have to kill him,” Ryan said humourously.

Meanwhile Ryan believes Fiji may not be in the position to take the HSBC World Rugby Sevens Series but will be a formidable team come next year’s Tokyo 2021 Olympic Games.
