PARENTS and guardians need to ensure children do not play on the roads.

This was the advice from the Land Transport Authority chairman Vijay Maharaj for parents and guidance as the festive season comes closer.

Mr Maharaj is calling on parents and guardians to carefully supervise their children during this school holiday and festive season.

He adds that parents and guardians are to be mindful of their children’s whereabouts at all times.

The Chairman has advised drivers to observe speed limits at villages, settlements, feeder roads, cities and town areas to avoid accidents.

“Road Safety is everyone’s responsibility and we must take this responsibility seriously to avoid road accidents,” said Mr Maharaj.
