Bau islanders cast their votes

HUNDREDS of villagers on the chiefly island of Bau flocked to the ‘Ulunivuaka’ (meeting hall) today to cast their vote.

Pre-poll commenced this morning on the island and is expected to be completed at 3pm today.

A total of 298 registered voters are expected to cast their vote.

The voters include villagers from Bau, Soso and Lasakau.

The largest number of voters would be from Bau village.

Officials from the Fijian Elections Office (FEO) also visited some houses on the island to assist the elderly and those living with disabilities to cast their votes.
