BASKETBALL Fiji men’s team are ready to battle a tough competition at the International Basketball Federation (FIBA) Asia Men’s cup 2018 pre-qualifiers.
The national side secured a spot in the competition after settling for silver at the 2015 South Pacific Games in Papua New Guinea.
Basketball Fiji chief operating officer Laisiasa Puamau said the team would be facing tough competitors but is confident that the team will make it through to the next round of games given the amount of training they have done.
“This tournament will determine which teams will make it through to the 2021 Men’s World cup.
“We know we will face tough competitors as this is the first time for the team to qualify for this tournament,” said Puamau.
