PORT MORESBY, 03 OCTOBER 2018 (POST COURIER) – PNG’s first ever political party Pangu Pati has re-elected Bulolo MP Sam Basil as their leader on Monday in the presence of Register of Political Parties Dr Alphonse Gelu.
Deputy party leader William Samb was also re-elected.
The Parliamentary wing of the country’s oldest party unanimously re-elected Basil as its parliamentary leader and Samb as deputy following the National Court’s nullification of their previous leadership less than a fortnight ago.
Present during the election were Lae MP John Rosso, Morobe Governor Ginson Saonu, and Markham MP Konni Iguan with other party members.
It is understood that the re-election results will be brought back to the National Court for deliberation soon by the party’s lawyer. Full details will be released after the court decision.
