WESTPAC aims to provide the resources to inspirational women business owners, leaders and budding entrepreneurs to grow or expand businesses, says the bank’s general manager Brett Hooker.
Mr Hooker made the comment at the 2016 Women in Business Awards which was held at the Grand Pacific Hotel last Friday.
Westpac was the major sponsor for the awards this year.
“As a bank, and as a corporate citizen, Westpac’s aim is to provide women with the necessary tools to achieve sustainable and profitable futures. When women earn and achieve professionally, we know that everyone benefits — women and girls, boys and men — and entire economies,” said Mr Hooker.
He said last week Westpac launched the Pacific Women in Business website in partnership with the Australian Government. Mr Hooker said the bank really prided itself on being the “Bank of Choice” for women and also the only local commercial bank with a Women’s Market unit.
“Fiji’s women and the inroads and successes they are making in business are truly outstanding, and we should take every opportunity to thank and acknowledge their achievements — not just today, but every day,” he said.
