BRED Bank (Fiji) is looking to expand its services outside of Suva as there is greater growth potential in areas such as Sigatoka and Lautoka.

CEO of the bank Thierry Charras-Gillot said they were committed to growing their business in Fiji, and were confident of the Fijian economy, “Our customer base has increased despite the challenging year and we are continuing investments to make banking accessible to customers,” he said.

“Currently we are looking for an ideal space in Sigatoka as we believe Sigatoka has great potential, we are also planning to expand our branch in Lautoka City which is another location with growth potential.”

Mr Charras-Gillot said they were aware of the growing demand by customers for its representation in Vanua Levu.

“Our aim is to serve all Fijians with our products and services and will definitely consider Vanua Levu once we have completed the existing expansion plans,” he said.

In the past two years, the bank had heavily invested in upgrading its branches.

According to Mr Charras-Gillot this was to realign the physical layout of the bank to their customer service strategy and vision statement which was to be Fiji’s preferred bank through “Banking Without Distance”.

“Banking Without Distance is a promise to our customers that we will work in close proximity with them, to support their financial goals, whether it be in person at our branches, through our digital platform or on the phone with our customer care, we will strive to provide consistent service, through all channels.

“Other areas that we are strengthening are our E-channels platforms, as you know, last year we launched the most advanced internet banking app in the market, called BRED Fiji Connect.

“This app is highly secure and provides latest security.”

The bank had also launched the Visa Tap and Go which was a more secure and convenient payment technology offered by Visa being operation in all its EFTPOS terminals.

Mr Charras-Gillot added they had many more improvements which would be launched later this year.
