The Supervisor of Elections’ revelation that they are dispatching ballot papers overseas (FT 8/11) is a compromise of local voters’ rights.
Overseas people participating in their former country’s political process should be careful of new country’s immigration policies, especially allegiance.
In Australia, politicians are disqualified for having dual citizenship and citizens are expected to tow the line for good reasons.
I believe it is also unfair for local civil rights if overseas voters partake in selecting our representatives to Parliament.
