FIJI’S Prime Minister Voreqe Bainimarama told the diplomatic, business and Fijian community in Sydney, Australia, that the Fiji today was one unlike any that the world had ever seen.

He said many of the people in the room – people of great power, wealth and influence – had the opportunity to take another look at the “new Fiji” as a friend worth having.

“Fiji has transformed from a once-struggling economy to the regional economic hub of the Pacific, with old industries thriving and new ones taking root,” Mr Bainimarama said.

“This unequalled success has allowed my goverrnment to put more and more money back into our people – and with each passing year, we in Fiji are seeing the benefits unlike ever before.”
