FIJIFIRST party leader Voreqe Bainimarama has pleaded with supporters of other political parties to vote for his party on November 14.

Speaking at the party’s family fun day at Valelevu in Nasinu on Saturday, Mr Bainimarama reminded those who voted for his party in the 2014 General Election to remain firm and support FijiFirst in the coming polls.

“For those that voted for FijiFirst in the last general elections, please vote for the party again this year,” he said.

“I’ve told my candidates not to lie to people when they are out campaigning because I’ve seen some politicians have lied during their campaign rallies.”

He said he was the only leader that would never lie to people and that it was through his Government that Fiji was united.

Mr Bainimarama said Fijians were safe under the FijiFirst party rather than the Social Democratic Liberal Party or the National Federation Party.

He said SODELPA and NFP were the only political parties that wanted to revive the 1997 Constitution, which he claimed was the worst constitution that Fiji ever had.

In his response, NFP leader Professor Biman Prasad claimed Mr Bainimarama was a leader who always lied to Fijians.

He said Mr Bainimarama should focus more on his candidates rather than criticising other political parties because it showed their party was on the losing end.

“He is the only person that has lied a lot to people and it’s recorded, this just shows that he is threatened by our party, give him my mobile number because he will need it after elections,” Prof Prasad said.

Efforts made to try and get comments from SODELPA leader Sitiveni Rabuka remained futile when this edition went to press last night.
