FijiFirst leader Voreqe Bainimarama says this election is crucial and voting for FijiFirst means carrying Fiji forward.

In a recent campaign in Nadi, Mr Bainimarama said candidates had been moving around the country enlightening the population at large.

“I want you to remember that on December 14, you have one opportunity, one chance, one tick to decide whether we are going forward or we go backwards to that leadership of the parties that are coming to the fore,” Mr Bainimarama remarked.

“It’s a very important tick because you will then decide whether we carry on going forward with FijiFirst or go backwards with some of the political parties that are talking loud, but really have no track record.

“We want to tell you that come 14 December, we want to tell you to put a tick, a tick for the FijiFirst candidates that are here, especially 234.”

Mr Bainimarama informed Nadi supporters there was no need to bring back the great council of chiefs and that the council had always been politicised for years.

“We really don’t want the council of chiefs back. We’ve gone past that.

“We’ve gone without the great council of chiefs for the last seven, nine years. No one has missed them, especially our kids, our youths.

“All they want right now is education and employment and the GCC will not give them that. Remember that.”

The FijiFirst leader said the removal of the GCC did not mean that iTaukei chiefs would be rid of from this world and they remained chiefs in their own right.
