Bail extended for suspended police constable

A SUSPENDED police constable charged with 14 counts of conspiracy to defraud obtaining a gain and 14 counts of theft had his bail extended by Magistrate Jioji Boseiwaqa at the Suva Magistrates Court this morning.

Kamal Kishore Mishra is charged alongside a former employee of a service station Kameli Volau who is charged with a count each of conspiracy to defraud obtaining a gain and theft.

State lawyer Setefano Komaibaba made an application to have the matter transferred to Magistrate Waleen George as Mr Mishra has a similar case before her.

It is alleged that Mr Mishra stole a total of $1007.95 cash using a total tomcard issued to the Fiji Police Force.

It is also alleged that Mr Volau stole $100 using the total tomcard which was issued to the Fiji Police Force.

The alleged incident occurred between March 1, 2017 and March 13, 2017, in Suva.

The case has been adjourned to February 11.
