FORMER Flying Fijians co-captain Seremaia Bai believes newly-elected Flying Fijians coach Vern Cotter will inject his innovative tactics with an old fashion disciplined attitude to the Fijian boys vying for the white jumper.

Bai was part of Cotter’s squad in the Clermont rugby team in France for four years.

And he said his experience with the Kiwi man has been a successful and life-learning one on and off the field.

“A hard-nosed old school coach that I came across played against and under him for four years at ASM Clermont Ferrand Club in France. I remembered on one occasion when he removed pork from our meal table and bottles of coke,” Bai recalls.

“That is grumpy Vern and the standards he wants for his players to achieve.

“Some may find it offensive but one thing, never take things personally but I believe he has learned and changed along the way.”
