AS a Year 3 student, Saiasi Vunisasari knew he would follow in his father’s footstep and make a name for himself in the music industry.

Now a few years later, the Nasau, Koro lad is a well-recognised singer, composer and a songwriter who has three nominations at this year’s Fiji Performing Rights Association Music Awards.

A protege, Saiasi quickly rose to fame with the guidance of his father, his cousins who are members of the Delai Dokidoki band and extended relatives who have great music backgrounds in Fiji.

Well mentored by his father, the well-renowned singer, songwriter and composer Kitione Vunisasari, Saiasi made sure to understand the music industry in Fiji and what it had to offer in terms of moulding his love for music and making it into a career choice he can appreciate every day.

Read Saiasi’s story of his journey and experiences in the local music scene in today’s edition of The Fiji Times.
