Makirina Nabe is excited to return back to school after a lapse of nearly seven months.

The Year 9 St John’s College student received her first dose of the Pfizer vaccine at St Thomas Primary School recently.

“It feels good to know that school’s are finally opening all over the country and I am excited to reunite with my classmates,” said the 14-year-old.

Her father Iowane Nabe said the vaccination was only for the betterment of his daughter.

“The schools are opening soon and once she will be fully vaccinated against the virus, we would be assured that her body would be in a good state to fight off the COVID-19 virus.”

Mr Nabe also urged other parents to get their children vaccinated as well.

Ministry of Health recently launched Schools Pfizer Vaccination Program for children aged 12 to 14 years.
