FIJI Airways Fiji 7s head coach Gareth Baber will be in the Mamanuca Group this weekend to continue his search for new players.

He was at the St Patrick Vuaki 7s a fortnight ago in Yasawa and guided a shadow national 7s team to win the Nabukelevu 7s in Kadavu last weekend.

Turnbull Namamanuca Primary School 7s organiser Mesake Ravaga yesterday confirmed Baber would be present at their tournament.

He said big names such as Kalione Nasoko, Josua Vakurunabuli, Alasio Naduva, Apenisa Cakaubalavu and Waisea Nacuqu would represent the DM team.

“We will be blessed to have the national 7s coach and some national reps,” said Ravaga.

Some of the top teams likely to pose threats at the two-day event include Wadigi Salvo, Nakete Babas, Pacific Island Air Yasawa, Momi Tigers and defending champions Yanuya Get Together.

The tournament will start tomorrow at the Namamanuca Primary School ground.

Meanwhile, Baber has rested Amenoni Nasilasila, Vatemo Ravouvou and Sevuloni Mocenacagi at the Kadavu 7s and gave some new boys a run.
