NATIONAL 7s coach Gareth Baber expects the teams participating in the upcoming tournaments to play within the laws of the game.

According to Baber, rugby is a physical sport played with power and pace.

“But there is a reality that when you put the power on with pace together, obviously you are putting yourself in a situation where people are going to get injured,” he said.

“One of the things that World Rugby certainly demands from its HSBC World Sevens Series teams is that they have the ability to play within the laws of the game.

“For the reasons which are well documented with young children coming into the game and we want to keep them. We don’t want to get them put off the game by seeing the horrible injuries.”
