FIJI Airways 7s national team coach Gareth Baber will continue to hunt for local talents around the country apart from the extended squad currently in the team training for the upcoming IRB World 7s Series and the Oceania 7s next month.

Baber will test the new players in the extended squad in local 7s tournaments that will be held in various provinces in the country.

He said he was still on the lookout for players who he thought had the calibre to don the national jumper.

“I want to access the quality of tournaments that are here, it’s important for us as a team and for the competition and we treat that with respect and when we go to a tournament, we want to be competitive and make it a good tournament,” Baber said.

“I’m always looking at talents and ultimately seeing people playing against the Fiji team, there are some talents that could be drafted into the squad.”

Meanwhile, the Fiji 7s team will travel to Kadavu, Vanua Levu and other tournaments in the outer islands trying to blend his new players with the old ones and at the same time searching for raw talents.
