FIJI 7s team head coach Gareth Baber reassures Fijian fans here and abroad that the team will bounce back in the New Zealand 7s in Hamilton after receiving negative feedbacks from fans after the Dubai 7s and South Africa 7s in Cape Town last month.

Baber and his players have gone through a lot of pressure after the Dubai 7s through critics and comments made on social media.

That does not stop the Welshman from believing in his players to beat all odds in the next tournament at the FMG Waikato Stadium in Hamilton.

He said the first leg of the HSBC World Rugby Sevens Series kicked off late last year after five months and the players were getting back into the groove after winning the Series last year.

“There’s always pressure and it always increase from tournament to tournament. It should be because it’s an international sport.

“I understand the frustration of fans as well, but the reality is this team won five tournaments last year. They still have the capabilities to do that, but we just didn’t find the rhythm in the first two tournaments,” said Baber.

Meanwhile, the Fiji 7s team will play its first pool games against Samoa at 12.47pm on Saturday, January 25, before meeting Australia at 6.35pm.

The last pool match will be against Argentina at 11.57am on Sunday, January 26, and the semi-finals and final will be held in the afternoon
