Ba wins Pacific Community Cup

Ba defeated Nadi 1-0 in the All in One Builders-sponsored Pacific Community Cup at Prince Charles Park in Nadi yesterday.

Nabil Begg, the future star of Fijian football scored in the 17th minute. Ba team manager Azam Ali said they qualified for some semi-finals this season.

He said they made it to the semi-final of the Fiji FACT, Battle of the Giants and Inter District Championship.

“We lost to Navua in the semi-final of the IDC which was a big upset but we have come back to target this Pacific Community Cup,” he said.

“I must thank all the boys, especially the ones that came from Argentina, Carlos Rafa, Augustine Contratcha and Nicolas Babadila for helping us lift the title.”

Ba defeated Suva 1-0 in the semi-final while Nadi defeated Lautoka 2-1 in the other epic battle.

Ba collected $10,000 while Nadi settled for $3000.
