Ba retains TIV Sangam title

BA successfully defended its super premier division title in the 2018 Then India Valibar (TIV) Sangam Football Championship in Sigatoka on Monday.
The Men in Black defeated neighbour Lautoka 5-3 during the penalty shootout after the match ended scoreless in mandatory time at the Nadroga Sangam Primary School.
In the semi-final, Lautoka downed Suva 1-0 while Ba defeated Nadi 5-4 in a penalty shootout.
Meanwhile Lautoka made it back to back titles in the master’s category.
Lautoka with the likes of Salesh Samy Bula, Anand Rao, Bryner Thoman and Sachida Nand defeated Papatoetoe 2-0.
In the semi-finals Lautoka defeated Melbourne 2-0 while Papatoetoe beat Auckland 4-3 in a penalty shootout.
Lautoka Sangam Masters president/player Krishna Sami said they had received invitations to participate in some overseas tournaments.
Sami thanked their hard working centre back and team manager Sailend Krishna for motivating the players.
“We will continue training on a regular basis,” Sami said.
“This is just to keep the players healthy.”
