THERE have been no confirmed dengue-related deaths in the country so far this year.
However, national adviser communicable diseases Dr Mike Kama said there had been some suspicion of deaths caused by dengue.
“It is believed the deaths were caused by other morbid causes like heart failure,” he said.
He said awareness campaigns at the community level had been boosted through health workers.
“As far as reports go, we are conducting ongoing awareness programs and healthcare workers are reaching out to members of the community.
“Our message to members of the public is to protect themselves from mosquito bites and keep levels of mosquito density low,” Dr Kama said.
