The Civil Aviation Authority of Fiji (CAAF) has cautioned people against flying drones during curfew hours in public areas.

CAAF states all recreational drone pilots should adhere to COVID-19 safe protocols if they wish to fly drones.

“You cannot fly your drone over public spaces such as parks or the beach, or your neighbour’s premises during curfew.”

CAAF says drone registration and authorisation are mandatory for all drone owners and users in Fiji.

“Operating a drone apart from any recreational purpose is a commercial activity, therefore requiring written authorisation from the authority (CAAF).”

Drone operators have been told to be within their own bubbles and use personal protective equipment and have the careFIJI app installed on their phones.
