AUSTRALIA has increased its focus on supporting Fiji’s private sector by assisting the Government to strengthen Fiji’s overall business enabling environment.

This was highlighted by Australia’s High Commissioner to Fiji John Feakes during the opening of the Pacific Corporate Governance Institute(PCGI) 2019 Annual Pacific Governance Summit at the Grand Pacific Hotel in Suva today.

Mr Feakes said since 2016, the Australian government had partnered with the International Finance Cooperation (IFC) to work with relevant ministries and agencies.

He said this important work was already underway with the Fijian Government to review investment policies and designing special economic zones.

Mr Feakes added good cooperate governance was gaining priority in the minds of investors and other stakeholders.
