THE Australian Army Rugby Union is optimistic of a great outing as they prepared to take on the Republic of Fiji Military Forces rugby team this weekend.

AARU National Army Rugby Manager Leftenant Colonel Ashley Cootes said the team was extremely happy to be here as they ran through their training rounds yesterday at Bidesi ground.

“We are extremely happy to be here and build defence relationships between the Australian Defence Force and the RFMF,” Cotes said.

The AARU and the RFMF had a joint training session at Bidesi ground where both teams mixed with each other despite the rain.

The AARU and RFMF will curtain raise the next round of the National Rugby Championship match between the Fiji Airways Drua and the New South Wales Country Eagles at ANZ Stadium this Saturday.
