THREE assessors have found Usaia Kilaiverata guilty of murdering his partner and former journalist Losana McGowan.
Mr Kilaiverata, who is charged with one count of murder, was alleged to have murdered Ms McGowan at their flat in Toorak, Suva in April last year.
The matter was called before Justice Priyantha Fernando at the High Court in Suva last Friday.
In his summing up, Justice Fernando advised the three assessors not to base their opinion on mere speculations or from things they heard outside of court.
He informed the assessors that their duties were to find the facts and applied the law.
The three assessors deliberated for almost two hours and returned with a guilty opinion for Mr Kilaiverata.
Justice Fernando will deliver his judgement this week.
