Asbestos pipes contributing factor to bursts

ASBESTOS pipes are one of the main contributing factors to frequent bursts and low capacity in Water Authority of Fiji’s wastewater systems.

Team leader wastewater management Matapule Finiasi revealed this during the Fijian Sewage Improvement Workshop in Nadi yesterday.

“The existing challenges that we face here are of course old infrastructure that gives low capacity and frequent bursts because of these old infrastructure,” he said.
