THE Army rugby side has won the 2019 Ratu Sukuna Bowl defeating Police 20-17 this afternoon.

Army led 17-3 at half-time. Police did make a comeback but it was a little too late to defend the title the Blues won last year.

Vesi Rawarawa was sin binned for Army after a high tackle while Police flanker Jone Navori also spent 10 minutes in the bin for dangerous play.

Rawarawa came of the bench to score army’s first try while winger Gabrieli Matakiviwa scored the second try.

Police scored two tries in the second spell through replacement hooker Ratu Naisa Navuma and Eramasi Radrodro but it wasn’t enough.

Army’s second half points came through the boots of fly half Jone Manu who converted a penalty.
