Army downs Nadroga after a hard fight game

ARMY Sukuna side came out victorious after a hard fought game against Nadroga White 40-14 at Lawaqa Park, Sigatoka.

Army’s Jim Usamaki scored the first try for the winning side within the first six minutes of the game with a successful conversion by Jone Manu extending their lead 7-0.

Nadroga’s Sireli Nasawali came fighting back with another score and a successful conversion by Lilo Veiseyaki putting them to head to head 7-7.

Nadroga was confident enough and scored their second try by Sireli Nasawali at the wing with a successful conversion by Lilo Veiseyaki putting the hosts in the lead 14-7.

Army Sukuna’s Apisalome Vota scored the next try in the 32nd minute with a successful conversion by Jone Manu putting the score t 14-all draw. The Army side was unstoppable and scored another try in the 37th minute.

The try made by Gabby Matakiviwa, Jone Manu confirmed the conversion extending the lead further 19-14 at half time.

Army made the first call in the start of the second half with a try from prop Seveci Naisilisili and a conversion by Vilive Aria points stand at 26-14.

Army was on fire throughout the second half scoring its fifth try of the game by Jim Usamaki with a successful conversion by Vilive Aria putting the Army side 33-14 ahead.

The visiting side had the final say with a try made by Aporosa Kenatale and successful conversion by Aria.

Final score of the curtain-raiser between Army Sukuna and Nadroga White 42-14.
