The Fiji Archery Association held its second senior qualification round to select a team to the Oceania Archery Championship which will be held in Australia next year.

The qualifiers, one of five events to select a six-member team to the championship in Adelaide next April, was held at the St Marcellin Primary School grounds in Vatuwaqa, Suva.

In the men’s recurve division, Nathan Kirk shot 490 points followed by Mark Chipongian with 476 and Rajiv Solanki on 409.

Jason Chute, who has already qualified for the championship, shot 686 points.

Fiji Archery vice president Ajay Ballu said Fiji would be defending a few titles in Adelaide.

He added they were hoping to have at least six shooters qualify for the event, with talks with Olympian Robert Elder to get him in the team.

Elder is based in Australia.
