Arafura Games: Derenalagi scoops silver in shot-put event

FIJI Paralympic athlete Derek Derenalagi won a silver medal in the Arafura Games in Darwin, Australia today.

Derenalagi scooped the medal in the F57 shot-put gaining 9.40 metres in his throw and bagging Fiji’s second medal.

Derenalagi was happy with his achievements and acknowledged everyone who has been there for him during his preparation.

Fiji’s first medal at the games  Iosefo Rakesa who won bronze in the men’s para javelin event.

Rakesa exceeded the minimum world standards of 27 meters by recording a distance of 28 metres.
