Appeal process opened

ATHLETES can appeal if they feel they were unfairly treated and deserve to represent the nation, says Team Fiji chef de mission to the 2018 Commonwealth Games Patrick Bower.
Bower said strict procedure would follow if the complaints were made with FASANOC.
“Following the announcement today (yesterday) which will be released in the media, we have a 48-hour period following that. Those athletes who feel that they were unfairly treated and think they deserve the right in a team to put in their complaint and the evidence,” Bower said.
“The tribunal committee will make the final decision and if it is a fair complaint or those who have been selected are fairly selected then they deserve to stay on the team.
“All coaches and managers should ensure they have a good record of all the performances and preparations,” Bower said.
“They also need to keep a record of all the attendances at the training and these data should be there to back up the selection of those who have been chosen to represent their team.”
The appeal period closes at 4pm on Monday.
