APIA, 10 OCTOBER 2018 (SAMOA OBSERVER) – A brawl in Apia town last weekend has left one dead and another hospitalised with stab wounds on his neck.

Falefou Lemana, of Togafu’afu’a and Nu’u, was stabbed to death following a fight between a group of men in Apia.

The second victim is admitted to the Tupua Tamasese Meaole hospital with stab wounds on his neck.

The deceased is in his late 20s.

Local police have appealed to members of the public with information to assist their investigation.

An uncle of the deceased, Peleti Schwalger, was still trying to come to terms with the death of his nephew when the Samoa Observer visited the family.

“We are still in shock that Falefou has passed away as a result of a brawl between men at Tauese,” he said.

“He and another nephew of ours were in a drinking session then they were (on their way to get food) and that’s where the fight broke out and as a result he was stabbed.

“Falefou was trying to help his cousin who was involved in the fight when he was stabbed and died,” Schwalger said.

The parents of the deceased and the second victim were not at home.
