DESPITE facing some challenges at the general election, the Fiji Police Force is doing everything to ensure that law and order is maintained in the country in the lead-up to the forming of the next government.
Police chief operations officer ACP Rusiate Tudravu said everything was going according to their plan in their election routines.
“We are covering all strategic points in which we are assisting elections officials,” ACP Tudravu said.
“So far so good. What we have noticed was that those who have covered the voting areas and the national counting centre as well as the information centre have been doing a great job.
“We will be doing that until the finalisation of the election results and then we will focus on the period of the first seating of parliament.”
ACP Tudravu said as usual there were challenges in carrying out their operations like the long hours of work, however, they had tried to do their best to look at the administration.
“This is the first time that our officers have received their allowances before they are deployed, in previous years we get it after election and the allowances were given to election officials only.”
