THE Alliance Francaise de Suva language and cultural centre launched a photo contest as part of its environment month initiative in Suva on Thursday.

With the theme “Untouched Nature”, the exhibition will be held on February 28 at the venue in Suva.

Centre director of culture and communications Charlotte Tassel said they decided in February to involve themselves in environment and ecology.

“This is why we decided to work with Matthieu Junker, who is a French researcher from New Caledonia especially in marine biology and ecology,” Ms Tassel said.

“We thought to organise an exhibition connected to art and environment.

We represent the French culture and we are also a school so we want to teach and educate about true art.

He (Junker) offered us to display his exhibition and it was a great opportunity for us.

“We are also working with the Tjibaou Centre in Noumea, New Caledonia.”

She said the exhibition was on fishing for living and it was about the traditional fishing practices in New Caledonia.
