HUNDREDS of people gathered at the Vuniiviivi Methodist Church in Nausori for the homecoming service of Salanieta Leba today.

Emotions could not be measured as they bid farewell to the aspiring nurse.

Her father Savenaca Waqairatu said Leba was beautiful both inside and out.

“We thought Leba was still alive but we did not know that our baby girl was lying down silently on the hospital bed,” a teary Mr Waqairatu said.

“Leba has gone to a place that is destined for her and that is where we will all be come our time.”

The grieving father added that what he went through should be a teaching lesson to parents and guardians in this changing world.

She was laid to rest at Nausori Village.

According to Police, Leba was allegedly assaulted and stabbed by her partner during a heated argument over a Facebook message sent to her relative.

She was pronounced dead on arrival at the hospital.
