All transport systems run on fossil fuel, states minister

THE biggest challenge  in terms of transport in Fiji is that all our transport system runs on fossil fuels.

This was highlighted by Minister for Infrastructure, Transport, Disaster Management and Meteorological Services Jone Usamate while speaking the Fiji Medical Association 61st Annual Scientific Conference in Pacific Harbour today.

Mr Usamate said there was a need to reduce Fiji’s  greenhouse emissions but right now the main  focus had to be in terms of infrastructure that was needed to make  sure that it was resilient.
